Join Police Departments and Municipal Alliances around the County. Since 1984, the first Tuesday of August each year sees over 16,000 law enforcements departments around the country bring together their community. This year, the events will be held on August 5, 2025. In New Jersey, there are 460 town police forces, 211 of which participate in National Night Out. The goal is to strength the bond between residents and law enforcement. It's an awesome free night and gives children the chance to explore emergency vehicles and meet local heroes.
While every town is different, highlights often include:
Police, Fire, EMS, DPW & other emergency vehicles
DJs or other entertainment
FREE food
Face painting, bounce houses and games
Community tables and much more!
All events are Tuesday, August 5 with the two exceptions noted.

Boonton/Mountain Lakes - 5-8pm at RVA Field, (353 Powerville Rd, Boonton Twp) including free food and drinks, bounce house, face painting, dunk tank and more
Butler - Details to follow, being held August 12
Denville - 6-9pm on Broadway including NJ Safe Kids Helmets, bounce house, dunk tank and more
Hopatcong - 5-8pm at Veterans Field including food, a concert games and more!
Lincoln Park - August 8, 5-8pm at 264 Jacksonville Rd, Chapel Parking lot. It will include Free food, free ice cream truck, music, games and more!
Madison - 5-8pm at the Madison Public Safety Complex with free pizza, hot dogs, and ice cream plus family fun with a bounce house, games and giveaways plus music! Plus a state police flyover!
Morris Plains - 5-8:30pm on Jim Fear Drive includes dunk tank, bounce house, balloon artist, body art, free food and beverages plus a DJ
Morris Township - 4-8pm at Ginty Field (20 Dwyer Lane) including live music, food and activities. Bring a lawn chair
Pequannock - 6-9pm at the Municipal Building (530 Newark Pompton Tpke) The night includes music, food trucks, games, dunk tank, bounce house, bicycle inspections and demos from first responders!
Rockaway Borough - 6-9pm at Fireman's Field with food, game tents, photo booth, Warrior professional wresting, helicopter landing, child ID kits and more!
Rockaway Township - 6-9pm at Peterson Field (Fleetwood Dr) including food, music, entertainment and family fun. Note rain date of August 14 if needed
